Paul Kalbach has made his name mostly as a painter and visual artist. In the early 70s, Kalbach met synthesizer inventor Don Buchla at a garage sale where Kalbach procured a good deal of early Buchla prototypes and spare parts. From this, Kalbach cobbled together his own quasi-Buchla modular synthesizer to absorb into his practice. Warehouse Revival collects three long-form pieces that find Kalbach incorporating guitar, voice, and plastic roofing material into compositions that explore the boundary between tone and noise.
