Mark Abramson will be playing examples of recycled music, e.g. music made from other music. We’ll cover a couple different styles, focusing on artists that make prominent use of turntables. You’ll hear experimentalists Christian Marclay and Dick Raaijmakers, experimental hip-hop artists Flying Lotus, J Dilla and DJ Spooky, and a 20-minute tape-manipulated pop recording by Terry Riley.
